Celebrate the European Day of Languages: enjoy all LanguagEd's CEFR summaries and quizzes for free for 24 hours!

Did you know that 26 September is the European Day of Languages? And this year is particulary special because it’s the 20th anniversary?

This day, co-organised by the Council of Europe and the European Commission, aims to promote plurilingualism in the EU and celebrate linguistic diversity and the importance of language learning.

Now, I’m sure you’re thinking: I’ve already heard of all of those… and I can confirm: yes, you have, probably in the CEFR!

The CEFR: a complex but important document

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is a key document in EU linguistic policy and in the Italian concorso syllabus for the AB24, AB25 and BB02 classes.

It has been the subject of concorso questions in all the concorsi in the past few years because it is the most important document that language teachers ought to be familiar with.

It was first published in 2001 and then recently updated in 2018, with a new Companion Volume being published last year. Now, we know this is a hugely important document for the EU, and its latest updates further stress the importance of plurilingual and pluricultural competence… but it’s also an immensely long and complex document, which is not easy to study.

That is why our courses include some concise summaries and quizzes on the key aspects of the CEFR.

And to celebrate today, we have decided to…

*drumroll*…

…make these summaries and quizzes freely accessible to everyone for 24 hours!

Enjoy our present

So, what are you waiting for?
